Thank all Who Made the

Spring Celebration Sunday

a Great Success.

We had a wonderful time celebrating spring by helping to feed some of God’s creatures. We created a variety of bird feeders to place around the church or take home.

Thanks for a Successful

Second Annual Easter Festival and Toy Exchange

The Second Annual Easter Festival and Toy Exchange was a great success. Vickie Arnold, from church, and Janine Mundorff,  from the Girl Scouts, had the event extremely well organized.  In an age when many parents say that Hanover does not have much happening for children, it gave 66 children, 135 with their parents, and close to 150 with all those who helped at the program,  a very special Saturday morning. Thank you whether you helped organize this event, gave your Saturday morning for it, or helped to supply the eggs, candy, or other gifts.

Spiritual Groups

Would you like to be close to God in your everyday life? Would you like to see God working in powerful ways? Why not join one of our experimental prayer groups. Many of these groups are now meeting and would delight to include a new friend. Patti Paull has spent hours writing a book for us. She writes:

Walking with My God and My Dog is a six-week spiritual experience and prayer journal opportunity based on the author’s inspirations while walking her SPCA-adopted beagle Sam-Elliott.  The writings invite the participants to begin a spiritual walk so that they may gain sight in various elements of personal and community faith and worship and may draw closer to God.

We are in a time of transition as some groups that have met during the Christian season of Lent are ending. Some will be continuing and anticipating new members joining them. Other groups will be just starting. We will post these changes as they happen.

Patti Paull's Saturday morning group will be continuing at 9:00 AM at her home.

We welcome you to join us as we pray aloud for those on the prayer list every Tuesday morning at 10:30 am

Body & Soul Group

meets Tuesday evenings in Fellowship Hall from 6:30 – 8:00 pm

 Books Group in the Community

We have been gathering two exciting book groups at the New Oxford Coffee Company in New Oxford.   Bruce Conrad has been leading the group at 7:00 PM. They are finishing Rob Bell’s book, Velvet Elvis. The group meeting with Bruce Bouchard have finished reading Velvet Elvis, but are now starting 40 Days Journey with Dietrich Bonhoeffer. This is an experiment in prayer that includes writing a prayer journal. Each day includes a quote from Bonhoeffer, a Lutheran pastor, who resisted the Nazis during World War II. There are also a related passed from the Bible and a few verses from the book of Psalms to help focus our thoughts on the writer’s words, some questions for further reflections and some addition questions to guide our writing in the prayer journal. We will be reading this book for the next 10 weeks.
